I have been studying yoga and Pilates since 1998. As an athlete, I looked to yoga to bring harmony and balance to my mind and body. Almost simultaneously, I began studying and learning about Pilates. After completing a vigorous teacher training program with Patrick O'Brien at From the Center Pilates, I started teaching Pilates in 2002. Through Pilates, I learned the importance of stability and control along with flexibility and was able to incorporate all the Pilates principles into my yoga practice. I was amazed how complementary the two forms of neuromuscular exercise were. I began teaching yoga in 2004 after completing the Level 1 and Level 2 Teacher training program at The Chicago Yoga Center. There, I learned various styles of yoga including Iyengar, Hatha, and Ashtanga yoga under Suddah Wexler. I have traveled and studied with many wonderful teachers such Manju Jois, Richard Freeman, Philip Urso (a Baron Baptiste disciple), Seane Corn and Paul Grilley.
I've enjoyed teaching many styles of asana practice and am really influenced by Asthaga, Hatha, Baptiste, Bikram, and Yin yoga for the love... read more about Yin Yoga here
More recently I'm a mother of 4 beautiful children, a meditation teacher, a wellness coach, a reiki therapist, and a pilates teacher. I teach self-awareness and self-acceptance in the present moment. I believe yoga has the extraordinary power to heal and feed the soul. My classes integrate dynamic vinyasa flow asana (linking movement with breath) with the application of precise alignment, meditation, visualization, intention and prayer to create an inner journey towards healing and empowerment.
